Trip to the Sheldonian Theatre

On Friday 27th January, The Ocean and The Mountains classes were lucky enough to go to the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford to listen to a children’s classical music concert.

It was a beautiful building and we were sitting right at the very top so we had a wonderful view.

The programme included work by Coleridge, Holst and Powell as well as explanations of how the various instruments work and the different parts of the orchestra.

It was really good for the children in The Mountains to see the brass instruments, which they are learning in school with Mr Gray, being played so beautifully.

We hope that one day some of our children may join the Youth Orchestra and carry on with the great musical learning which has started at school.
