This year we have decided to work towards becoming an official ‘Eco-School.
To achieve a ‘green flag’ of success there are several steps which we need to achieve.
Firstly the school needs an Eco-committee which will meet every half term to co-ordinate our school projects. The Eco-Committee has been chosen from enthusiastic volunteers from Years 1-6.
The first meeting of the new committee was held on Monday 11th November 2019. During the meeting we completed an ‘environmental audit’ to help us decide where our priorities for this year should be. The audit highlighted some areas for our classes to work on and the next step for the committee is to create a school Action Plan.
There is now a special board in The Dell which will be used to display our ongoing work.
The Ocean class have recently sent some letters of concern about climate change to the different political parties. Their letters and the replies we have received are on display on the board.
The committee will provide regular updates about the work going on in school.
