This November, the whole school joined in the national initiative ‘Road Safety Week’, led by the Eco-Committee.
The committee prepared a whole school assembly to let everyone know about the importance of slowing down in cars. They designed an interactive quiz as well as showing posters and explaining the dangers of speed. The children also completed activities in the classrooms during the week and KS1 made it outside to practise some of the their road safety skills on the playground.
The Eco-Committee are currently looking at parking around the school site, as well as finding out how the children travel to school. They are planning a road safety poster competition and are also planning to write to the local parish council about some of the challenges that the school faces around parking and speed.
