Although we couldn’t be together in church this year, we decided that we would hold our end of term assembly at school and so we organised two classes to join us remotely and two classes gathered in the hall. It was a very unusual hybrid but it worked beautifully!
We awarded the House Cup to the Owls this term. We gave our special golden awards to four children (one who was poorly at home sadly) and celebrated their marvellous effort and commitment to learning. We listened to a special Christmas story and then the younger children sang two of their Christmas songs for everyone to enjoy. This was followed by Ocean Class who played ‘Jingle Bells’ on their recorders and then sang ‘It was on a starry night’ accompanied by Mrs Bell on her harp. The Mountains Class performed ‘Jingles Bells’ on their brass instruments and then the assembly was beautifully concluded by Mrs Bell and Miss Bartlett who sang and played ‘Silent Night’.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to such a lovely assembly – it went a long way to make up for yesterday’s disappointment about the cancelled RSC production.
Merry Christmas everyone!
