Our Christingle Assembly

On Wednesday 4th December, we officially started our Christmas celebrations by holding a Christingle assembly in St.Andrew’s church.

All of the children made a Christingle in school before the service. The Christingle represents the light of Jesus in the world with the use of a lit candle in an orange which is then decorated with a red ribbon and 4 sticks of sweets.

The service was led by children in The Ocean and the Mountains Class. The Christingles were lit whilst everyone sang ‘In the bleak midwinter’.

After the assembly, the children were able to take a Christingle home to enjoy.
