On Friday we had to pack everything up and strip the beds ready to go home. Our final workshop was a rocket making experience. We learnt a lot about space and forces and then we worked in groups to make 6 rockets, powered by gunpowder and capable of travelling up to 100 miles per hour!
Once the rockets were made, we all went up the field and our tutor fired them for us. All six rockets flew brilliantly and we found three spent rockets to bring back to school.
We arrived back at school at 4.30 p.m. Everyone was extremely tired and pleased to see their families.
It was an excellent trip and the children were a credit to our school and to their parents. We received many compliments about our behaviour and engagement with the activities during the week. It was a pleasure to spend time with such a wonderful bunch of people. Huge thanks go to Hooke Court for providing such a high quality experience and also to Miss Bartlett and Mrs Clements who gave up their time so willingly and enthusiastically to make the trip happen.
