Lest we forget

The Woodland class have been enjoying finding out about the significance of the poppy and why so many people choose to wear them.

We have learned about the First World War and considered very seriously what it might have been like to be a soldier fighting in the trenches. Many of the children have been inspired to bring in family treasures that commemorate and honour their relatives, and we have heard some wonderful stories of some truly heroic great – great grandfathers and uncles!
