Ice Cream Making – Ocean Class

posted in: Ocean, School News | 0

On Tuesday, as part of our learning in Science, Ocean Class attempted to make ice-cream.  We used ice cubes in a zip-lock bag, and then placed some flavoured milk inside a smaller zip-lock bag in with the ice-cubes…and then we shook….and shook….and shook…and shook some more.  We spent a long time shaking.  We were trying to pass the cold from the melting ice-cubes to reduce the temperature of our flavoured milk so that it became frozen.  Unfortunately, it made more of an ice-cream soup for most, but some groups were more successful.  At the end, we all enjoyed eating what we had made, with some delicious toppings!
