Hooke Court – Thursday 2024

Today was all about food and everyone was delighted about that!

During the morning session, the children learnt about eating seasonally to reduce air miles and then there was lots of home cooking to be done. Different groups made bread, scones, butter, jam, baked trout, chicken and sweetcorn soup and tomato soup. When all of the cooking preparations were done, it was time to taste the results!

During each day , there was also the opportunity for the children to relax by colouring, painting, reading and playing football.

Sadly, it rained during the afternoon but the weather had been very kind until this point. Despite this, there was a visit to the Hooke Court chickens, pigs and sheep followed by a really interesting visit to a local dairy farm to learn about milk production.

After getting dry and having beefburgers for tea (!), the final evening was spent enjoying a barn dance.
