Christingle 2021

We decided to begin the Christmas celebrations this year with our traditional Christingle service.

Everyone in school made a special Christingle composed of an orange to symbolise the world, red ribbon to symbolise God’s unending love, sweets to reflect all of the good things we are given and a candle to remind us that God sent his son to be the light of the world.

Unfortunately we were not able to hold our service in the church but we met in two bubbles in the school hall to celebrate instead.

The older children led the assembly with a series of readings and the choir sang ‘In the bleak midwinter’ whilst we all enjoyed the special candlelight. It was a special start to the Christmas period and the children were pleased to take their Christingles home to enjoy again at the end of the day.
