As half our class were out doing Bikeability today, we took the opportunity to do some free writing!
Authorfy contains 10-minute writing challenges: “Get creative with your favourite authors and illustrators by taking part in their fun and fast-paced 10 Minute Challenges!”
We chose one by the poet, Joshua Siegal (who visited our school in 2020!), where he challenged us to choose ten objects and turn them into a poem.
We didn’t focus on handwriting, spelling or grammar – just getting our creative ideas down within 10 minutes. The children were hooked and wrote continuously (in silence – without being asked!) for the whole 10 minutes!
