Year Six share the gifts they will take from Great Rollright School

It is a tradition, that Year Six record their school memories in a keepsake booklet which they take with them on the last day of primary school. Here are some extracts from some of the booklets explaining what they will take with them as they leave Great Rollright.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

During my time here, love has been important because everyone has been kind towards me, and that helped me feel comfortable here. While at this school, my courage has grown so much, and that is why I feel so confident about going to my new school. The value of respect has helped me become more aware of people’s differences and how to treat them with kindness. Truthfulness has become important because I know that you can get into less trouble if you just tell the truth. Now that I am leaving this school, I will take all the values with me and hold them in my heart in everything I say and every action I take. To everyone who is still at Great Rollright… follow your dreams, no matter how big they are. You will make it in the end. (Willow)

The value of respect has taught me to understand more religions, and how everyone is different. Truthfulness has become important to me because when i was in year 4 and 5 I would have arguments a lot, but telling the truth has taught it makes everything better. Now that I am leaving this school I will take with me all the values that Great Rollright has taught me. I want to say thank you to all the people at great Rollright and especially Mrs Hastings!!! (Zayla)

Throughout my time here I have learnt about the Good Shepherd, who never leaves anyone out. One thing our school is a no outsiders school which means nobody is judged or left out or treated differently .  Now that I am leaving this school I will take all the school values along the way. To be loving, truthful, courageous and respectful. These are very important to me because if you do them all you will be a good person. I am very grateful for all the teachers and people who have helped me. People who are in this school now I would say to always show the school values because it will take you so far in life and will turn you into a kind and loving person with a big heart. Never forget to be you and remember you only live once so make the most of it (Isobel)

This school has really helped me to grow and flourish in a fun and safe environment. So I’d like to thank everyone, from the newest butterfly to Mrs Hastings, for everything they’ve done for me. Now that I am leaving this school, I will take with me hundreds of happy memories, and life lessons. My final piece of advice to this school is: you’re going to find things hard, you’re going to get things wrong, but when you do, just pick yourself up, keep going and enjoy yourself! Goodbye, everyone.  (Charlie)

I think I will take the good shepherd story from Great Rollright because it is very meaningful and has good messages in it. It has also given me the foundations of everything. …This school has given me all the life skills, values and friends for the future.  Including love, courage, respect and truthfulness. This school has helped me to love reading, become a good writer. And now thanks to all of the writing lessons we have ever done I am now writing a book with Sailesh. These are only a few of the things that this wonderful and amazing school has taught me. Thank you to all of the amazing people that have helped me. (Odin)

I want to say to the children who are still in this school to enjoy your time here and make the most of it and to keep on going . I used to be really shy and I found it hard to make friends. Great Rollright has given me courage for the future.  (Daisy)

Great Rollright has given me an opportunity to have the future I want to have. I want to say to the children who are still at the school that you should try your best in everything. This school has helped me grow by helping me to step out of my comfort zone. During my time here, love has been important because being kind to someone would make them be kind to someone else, and on and on. While at this school, my courage has grown from shy to brave because the teachers have helped me to be brave. The value of respect has helped to realise how hard some people try and to be kind. Truthfulness has become important as I have grown up because if you lie things don’t get better. Now that I am leaving this school, I will take with me all the values and the fact that you don’t accomplish anything if you don’t try (Aubrey)

To the people still in this school who still have lots more learning ahead of them, I would like to say, to always be yourself and make as many marvellous mistakes you can because that is how you learn. Thank you Great Rollright. (Poem)

This school has four core values that will be drilled into you as your time her goes by. The first value is courage. This value has taught me to  never  give up and keep on going. The second value is  truthfulness. This has taught me to always tell the truth no matter how hard it may seem. The third value is love. This has taught me to love everyone. The last value is respect. This has helped me to respect  everyone. Another thing this school will teach you is the good shepherd and how to follow in  his footsteps. Even though I’m leaving this school, all these values and lesson of school will never leave me.(Beth)

This school has not only helped me learn academic subjects but also it has helped me to grow as a person and have good values. Our school values were mentioned by our teachers almost every chance they had. Because of that, they have been drilled into me. Our value of courage will help me to be a more courageous person and try new things. Our value of truth will help to be a more trustworthy person. Our value of love will remind me to help people be a more caring person. Our value of respect will remind me that all people are equal and I should not discriminate. Altogether, these values will help me to be an overall better person. (Sailesh)

Great Rollright has been an important step in my journey and I will never forget it. It has taught me so much and I will forever hold on to the memories. It has given me friends for life and unforgettable memories. While at this school, my courage has grown and I can now do a lot more things. Now that I am leaving this school, I will take all the values that I have learnt with me. When I am older, I want to be a professional horse rider and do show jumping because I love horses and horse riding.   I want to say thank you to all of the staff and to all of the children for making my time at Great Rollright an amazing adventure.  To the people that are still in the school, I want to say that you should make the most of your time here, make new friends and explore new things. (Keira)

I am really lucky to go to this school. I once saw something that said we are born with wings and teachers help us fly and I think that is very true here. (Elfreda)
