On the last day of the half term, as a reward for their hard work, determination and focus, Mrs Buckland invited Mrs Brown, who is a water colour artist, to come and talk to the class and show them some painting techniques. Mrs Brown is otherwise known as Mrs Buckland’s mum!
The class spent a lovely, quiet afternoon absorbed in still life paintings of flowers. They learnt about layering colours to create vibrancy, using water to create tones, and using negative space to create white tones and highlights.
The children were really proud of the paintings they created.
