Great Rollright Church of England Primary School is a thriving village school with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Our aim is to provide the very best in education for all our pupils, whatever their ability. We make every effort to ensure that each child can develop their academic, social and personal skills to their full potential in a safe, stimulating and caring environment. We are a learning school and we seek ways of helping ourselves and the children in our care to deepen understanding, and to improve skills – whether intellectual, social, physical, artistic, spiritual or creative. We see every child as an individual and we work with each one, and with you, their parents, to give support when needed or to challenge them further.
Our working environment is one which is conducive to good learning and yet which challenges us all to learn more and to improve our performance. We believe that children work best in a positive atmosphere where they have the confidence and security to be able to make mistakes and to take risks in a safe environment – and to learn from their experiences. We believe that children learn best when they are relaxed and happy, so we put great emphasis on having fun and making school enjoyable. Children are taught in classes of mixed age and ability, where they are encouraged to work together as well as independently. Teaching is carefully tailored to suit differing abilities within each class with extra support for those who need it alongside more challenging work to allow children to fully master their learning. We take every opportunity to extend learning beyond our classrooms by getting out into the local area and beyond. Our school is a busy, happy and friendly place, which sits comfortably in the midst of the local community. We value our good relationships with the church and the wider community. We are dedicated to doing the best we can for the children in our care and so we work hard to develop good levels of communication and a strong partnership between home and school.
