This week, the whole school had the chance to work with David Bowers, a mosaic artist, to make a special mosaic panel for the school.
The children started the process by working on designs which would illustrate our school’s Christian values of Love, Respect, Truth and Courage. Their ideas formed the four corners of the design and the centre was inspired by our special biblical story of the ‘Good Shepherd’ and our commitment to diversity and inclusion.
David invited all of the children to place tile pieces into the design over the course of two days. The panel was then grouted and cleaned. Finally, the children were invited to see the finished work and everyone agreed that is is BRILLIANT!!!
Huge thanks go to Mrs Hills, Mrs Dawe, Mrs Madden and Ms Mildenhall, who helped the children with their contributions and cleaned up all of the mess that was an inevitable part of the fun!
The final job is to decide the very best place to hang it.
We are truly grateful to the Friends of Rollright who paid for this amazing art project. The panel will be enjoyed for many years to come and it provides a wonderful visual reminder of what Great Rollright primary school stands for.
