After a really good night’s sleep, everyone was in fine spirits on Wednesday morning.
The challenge of the day was to complete a ‘Time Team’ style archaeological dig in one of the surrouding fields.
Everyone worked incredibly hard to evcavate a large trench and they uncovered all kinds of treasures in the process. In the afternoon, the finds were washed and then used to make deductions about the past.
After a lovely spell of free time which was spent playing football, reading and painting, the evening activity was to make some Saxon jewellery in a replica hut and to learn the art of weaving. Everyone successfully made themselves a bracelet or a ring and then it was time for a bedtime story and another brilliant day was complete.
