On Wednesday 24th June, The Mountains Class set off for their Dorset residential very early in the morning and right in the middle of a major heatwave!
The next three days were full of exciting and educational opportunities delivered by the wonderful team at Hooke Court. Through very hot days and nights, everyone in the class gave their absolute best to all of the activities.
On Wednesday, the class completed an archaelogical dig in the grounds of Hooke Court, visited a Celtic roundhouse and enjoyed some evening team building activities.
On Thursday, everyone got involved in learnng lots of healthy cookery before a visit to the Hooke Court animals and the local dairy farm. Then there was some cooling-off fun in the sprinkler before a joyous evening barn dance.
On Friday, the children had the chance to try kayaking, orienteering and archery before we travelled back home – hot, tired and happy!
A huge thank you goes to Mrs Buckland and Mrs Keene who accompanied us on the trip. Finally, I would also like to say thank you to every child – every single one of you behaved brilliantly and tackled all of the activities and challenges with enthusiasm and determination. It was also lovely to see you caring for each other. What a brilliant trip – even if it was a little bit too warm at times!
