Recently, the older children have been thinking about forgiveness and talking about the ways it can be difficult to achieve. Finding a way to forgive, however, is often very important in helping them to move forward after an incident in which they feel hurt.
The self-directed reflection activity for this term gives children the chance to think about forgiving someone through the physical act of choosing a stone and placing it in water. This ‘letting go’ of the stone reflects the letting go of the hurt and upset caused by an act of unkindness.
The activity is available in the hall to anyone who wants to engage with it over the following weeks.
