Last week we all celebrated our families and our individuality as part of PRIDE month.
The definition of PRIDE according to the Britannica dictionary is – ‘a feeling that you respect yourself and deserve to be respected by other people.’
At this school, we believe in equality, celebrate diversity and work hard every day to promte inclusion and belonging. As a church school we take our ‘Good Shepherd’ ethos and our Christian values with us to meet and embrace the aim of reducing, and one day eradicating, the prejudice which still exists in the world.
“There are no problems here, there are simply people. People are made in the image of God. All of us, without exception, are loved and called in Christ…The way forward needs to be about love, joy, and celebration of our humanity, of our creation in the image of God, of our belonging to Christ – all of us, without exception, without exclusion.’
The Archbishop of Canterbury
The Woodland Class created these beautiful clouds of personal celebration.
The Meadow Class drew their own families and made rainbow hearts to remind us that everyone deserves to be loved as themselves.
The Ocean and The Mountains classes wrote acrostic poems to celebrate their personal strengths and individuality. Their work will form part of a special display in school.
