Anti-Bullying week 2025

Meadow Class

As part of Anti-Bullying Week, the Meadow children celebrated uniqueness and inclusivity by designing odd socks and creating handprint flowers to show that, while each of us is different, together we make something beautiful. We also wore odd socks and joined in with Andy and the Odd Socks songs, reinforcing the importance of being yourself and embracing diversity.

Woodland Class

Woodland started the week by discussing what anti bullying meant to them. We looked at this years theme ‘power for good’ the children shared their ideas on how they could use this theme to help others by showing kindness, respect and love. They came up with some really caring and thoughtful ideas. We finished by making a  ‘power for good’ whole class paperchain with words we thought represented the theme. We now have this hung in our classroom.

Ocean Class

To mark Anti-Bullying Week, the Ocean class watched the BBC Live Lesson to explore what bullying is and how it affects people. During the lesson, they learned about the different types of bullying, including physical, verbal and online bullying. They also discussed who they can turn to for support, such as friends, teachers, and family, and reflected on the actions they can take if they witness or experience bullying.

Following the lesson, the students thought more deeply about what bullying might look like in everyday situations and how it might make someone feel. They explored strategies for standing up against bullying and ways to create a safer, more respectful environment for everyone. Inspired by their learning, they then worked creatively to produce a series of thoughtful and colourful posters. These posters  demonstrated their understanding of bullying and also shared important messages about kindness, empathy, and speaking up.

Mountains Class

In Mountains Class we thought deeply about how we could become empowered to be a ‘power for good’ using this year’s Anti Bullying Alliance’s theme.  We talked about what bullying is, what it might be like to experience it, and most importantly how a bystander can behave which can have a significant impact on a bullying situation.  We thought about different scenarios and how we could behave to show up as a power for good.  We also watched the BBC’s National Assembly for Antibullying week.  We culminated the week by thinking about what we might see and feel if we encountered bullying, what values we might need to draw on and then how we could be a ‘power for good’ in our response to these situations.
