On Tuesday, 19th November, The Ocean and The Mountains Class visited the ‘The Living Room’ cinema in Chipping Norton to see the brand new film, ‘The Wild Robot’.
Mrs Buckland organised the trip as our Key Stage 2 children have studied the ‘The Wild Robot’ book in lessons and she knew that it would be a wonderful treat.
The film was brilliant and, as well as being a great story, it also covered many of the themes we talk regularly about in school such as developing perseverance, tackling bullying and finding courage in difficult times. The theme of ‘love’ ran throughout the story as we watched the main characters learn to care deeply about one another. Back in school, the children were able to relate the film’s themes to our ongoing work on the ‘good shepherd’ – finding those qualities in the characters and recognsing how far one person can go for the good of all.
We are very grateful to the Friends of Rollright who subsidized the trip and to the cinema who made us so welcome.
